Role Purpose

To supervise shift-wise production quality activities, manage inspectors, and ensure process discipline and product conformity on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage line inspectors during shifts.
• Conduct random and patrol inspections.
• Verify setup approval before production start.
• Handle shift-wise quality issues and escalation.
• Coordinate with production supervisors and operators.
• Monitor hourly rejection and segregation of rejected material.
• Ensure proper use of gauges and measuring instruments.
• Maintain inspection and rejection records.
• Support corrective actions for recurring process issues.
• Ensure adherence to customer specifications and quality plans.

Required Technical Knowledge

• Machining process understanding
• Use of measuring instruments
• Basic drawing reading
• Inspection methods and defect identification
• Process quality control

Preferred Skills

• Leadership and manpower handling
• Problem-solving ability
• Shift coordination
• ERP/basic computer knowledge

Experience

5–10 years in machining or manufacturing quality operations.

Qualification

Diploma / ITI Mechanical preferred.

Authority

• Stop production for major quality issues.
• Reject non-conforming material.
• Escalate abnormal process conditions.
