Job Description – Solar Project Engineer 
Position: Solar Project Engineer 
Experience: 6–10 Years 
Education: BE / B. Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Power, Automation or related field 
Location: Senegal / Project Sites 

Job Summary 
We are looking for an experienced Solar Project Engineer to manage and support solar power 
projects from tendering and BOQ preparation through installation, commissioning, 
troubleshooting, maintenance, and project execution. 
The candidate should have strong technical knowledge of Solar PV systems, electrical systems, 
DG sets, power automation, installation, testing and commissioning, with practical experience 
in project/site execution. 

Key Responsibilities 
• Prepare and review technical tenders, quotations, BOQs and material specifications for 
solar projects. 
• Analyze project drawings, specifications and technical requirements. 
• Prepare quantity take-offs, material requirements and cost estimates. 
• Coordinate procurement and ensure materials comply with approved technical 
specifications. 
• Supervise solar panel installation, inverter installation, cabling, earthing, protection 
systems and related electrical works. 
• Conduct testing and commissioning of Solar PV systems. 
• Troubleshoot electrical, solar and automation-related issues and implement corrective 
actions. 
• Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of solar power systems. 
• Monitor system performance and identify losses, faults and operational issues. 
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants and project/site teams. 
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical standards, safety requirements and 
project schedules. 
• Prepare technical reports, commissioning reports, maintenance records and project 
documentation. 
• Provide technical support for DG sets, synchronization, AMF/ATS systems and power 
automation. 
• Coordinate integration of solar systems with existing electrical/DG infrastructure. 
• Support testing of electrical protection, control and automation systems. 
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of engineering and site activities.

• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance 
• BOQ, Tendering and Cost Estimation 
• Technical drawings and single-line diagrams 
• Project documentation and reporting 

Preferred Candidate Profile 
• Strong field/site execution experience. 
• Good understanding of electrical and solar engineering principles. 
• Ability to independently troubleshoot technical problems. 
• Strong coordination and project management skills. 
• Ability to read electrical drawings and SLDs. 
• Good knowledge of MS Office and engineering/project documentation. 
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required. 
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
