Cyber Security Site Engineer

We are looking for a Cyber Security Site Engineer to support the implementation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of cyber security systems for power utility projects. The ideal candidate should have experience in securing industrial communication networks, Operational Technology (OT), SCADA, and substation automation environments while ensuring compliance with project specifications and cyber security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and commission cyber security solutions at project sites.
• Deploy and manage industrial firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and network security appliances.
• Implement cyber security controls for Power Stations, Substations, SCADA, and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
• Perform system hardening of servers, engineering workstations, HMIs, and network devices.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial Ethernet switches, routers, and communication networks.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement security recommendations.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.
• Monitor cyber security events and assist in incident response and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with electrical, protection, automation, telecom, and commissioning teams during project execution.
• Prepare technical reports, commissioning documentation, and as-built records.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and international cyber security standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in Cyber Security, Network Security, or OT Security projects.
• Experience in Power Stations, Substations, Transmission & Distribution, Electrical Utilities, or EPC projects is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Industrial Firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point)
  • VPN, IDS/IPS, Endpoint Protection
  • SCADA Systems
  • Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
  • Operational Technology (OT)
  • Industrial Ethernet Networks
  • TCP/IP, Routing & Switching
• Knowledge of IEC 62443, IEC 61850, NIST, or ISO 27001 is an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel and work at project sites across Oman.
